Two designers making something that isn't just flowers

I'm Abi. My husband is Henry. And we make floral arrangements in San Diego — but not the kind you're probably thinking of.

I work in product design. Henry was an art director in entertainment. We bring those experiences to everything we make — because we learned early on that intention matters. Design matters. Craft matters.

We started this because we wanted flowers to actually do something. To carry a message. To make someone feel completely seen. To be the gift that gets photographed before it even leaves the room.

Our Story

These arrangements started with a hospital visit that broke my heart a little.

Hi — I'm Abi.

My husband, Henry, and I run Happiness Is Blooming together, and these little ring baskets are the most personal thing we make.

We designed them after a hospital visit. The arrangement I'd brought was beautiful — and far too big. It got moved off the patient's food tray, then onto a side table, then somewhere behind them where they couldn't even see it. By my next visit, the flowers were still there. But they might as well have been in another room.

So Henry and I designed something different. Smaller, so it fits where people actually are. With a cute character at the center — a cat, a sheep, a tiny mouse — handcrafted from fresh blooms, in a custom container Henry designed himself.

That's what these were always about. Not the flowers, exactly — the connection they carry into the room.

More than sit in a vase for a week. More than feel like a generic gift. We wanted to make floral arrangements that double as small pieces of art — pieces you'd actually keep, in a container you'd actually display, with a story attached that you'd actually remember.

We call it floral art with technology.

And yes — every flower is real.

What's inside every arrangement

Three gifts in one.

Fresh flowers. Every character is shaped entirely from real blooms, handcrafted by hand on the day it ships.

An AR experience. Scan the butterfly and watch augmented reality butterflies fly around the arrangement in real time. Every time. Forever. It's the kind of moment that makes grown adults pull out their phones to film it.

A personal video message. Scan the bee and hear the voice of whoever sent it. A message only they can open, tucked inside the flowers.

A container designed to last.

Henry designs every container in our studio. They're built to be carried, photographed, and kept long after the flowers fade. Our customers tell us their containers end up on counters, desks, nightstands, and wedding mantles — refilled with whatever brings them joy.

The flowers are temporary. The container becomes part of someone's home.

French elegance × Japanese kawaii

Our style lives between two worlds we love. The refinement of French floral design. The joyful character-driven warmth of Japanese kawaii.

The result is joyful elegance — grown-up enough for a boardroom gift, warm enough for a hospital room, surprising enough that someone photographs it before it ever leaves their hands.

We call it fun without being kiddish. Elegant without being cold.

Made by us, by hand, in San Diego.

There's no factory. No shortcuts. Every piece you see in our collection was made by one of us — in our studio, on the day it ships.

Every order has a story behind it. A hospital visit. A promotion. A long distance friendship. A way of saying I'm thinking of you that a card could never capture.

Send us a note. We'd love to know yours.
